Opening of a passport renewal center for Filipinos
Filipinos in Doha can now renew their passports at the newly opened BLS International-Philippine Passport Renewal Center (PaRC), the Philippine Embassy in Qatar has announced.
The PaRC, located at Al Shoumoukh Towers, 17th Floor, Building 58, 231 Suhaim Bin Hamad Street, Zone 23, Doha, will serve as another option for passport renewals for Filipino expatriates outside the Embassy in the region of Jelaiah.
“The opening of the PaRC will now allow Filipinos to have the option of processing their passport renewals at the embassy or at the PaRC,” the embassy said in a September 25 circular posted on its Facebook page. “The PaRC will only take care of the simple renewal of the passport and not those requiring changes to the biographical details of the passport holder.”
The embassy said those who wish to apply for a PaRC passport renewal can visit https://qatar.blsphilippinepassport.com/book_appointment.php to make an appointment.
The Center is open Sunday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., except on official Qatar public holidays.
The PaRC, on its official website, said that “booking a prior appointment is preferable” for passport renewal.
“This is kept in mind that we maintain appropriate social distancing to ensure the safety of all customers and to meet the high demand for renewals,” PaRC said. “And to ensure availability of time slots, clients are requested to book their appointments well in advance.
The Center has also published a number of guidelines such as:
* Carry an appointment confirmation email at the scheduled date and time at the Center to show to the staff attendant / security guard.
* Applicants will be required to pay a convenience fee of QR 91 per application payable to the service provider in addition to the passport renewal fee.
* Complete the online application form with all the supporting documents required for the renewal of the passport before coming to the scheduled appointment.
* Arrival at the Center 15 minutes before the meeting time.
Only candidates will be allowed to go to the center.
Only one appointment can be made per passport.
The Embassy noted that “Qatar is the third country in the Gulf region, after Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, that the Philippine government has opened a PaRC to meet the needs of the Filipino community.”
